I know a few of these, but need to check out more! I am getting familiar with the older ecm's but havent tackled very much modern stuff. I do love all of the Stanko's and really like that album with JBL. Vijay Iyer's stuff is nice as well. I have so much more ground to cover....it never ends!

It never ends, indeed! So much great music....

As for Vijay Iyer, I have mixed feelings about his ECM albums. Before the "big transfer," I absolutely loved Historicity and especially Accelerando. But I think Manfred Eicher's production didn't quite serve his music that well. Break Stuff is an excellent album musically, but somehow it remained a "seasonal" listen for me—it never really stayed in my regular rotation. After that, I gradually lost track of his later releases, even though I'm a big fan of his work overall.

Among the albums that just missed my list, I'd definitely mention Jakob Bro's Gefion and Colin Vallon's Le Vent.

Thanks for the recommendations. Some new names for me, while others are familiar. Eivind Aarset never disappoints, so glad to see him in the list!

for me: (i’m a little biased) Keith Jarrett Trio’s entire 2000’s discography.
